June 28th: Using Lavender Essential Oils

Lavender is a non-toxic and non-irritating oil that can be used on all skin types, and it actually has more uses than you may realize, including:

  • Reduces stress, tension, and anxietylavender aromatherapy
  • Relaxes tight muscles
  • Lessens pain and reduces inflammation
  • Repels insects and moths

Here’s some tips on how lavender essenstial oil should be used:

  • Diffuse or inhale it to calm your mind and body
  • Massage on or around affected areas to to possibly minimize the appearance of scar tissue
  • Apply 2-3 drops to minor burns to soothe affected area
  • Add a few drops of oil to a cotton ball and place it in closets and drawers to scent linens and repel moths and insects
