Poke RowThe history of poke (pronounced poh-kay) dates back to the early Hawaiians. Poke simply means "to slice or cut" in Hawaiian. Long ago, fishermen seasoned the cut-offs of their daily catch to enjoy as a snack, maybe adding a little seaweed in the mix. Over time, poke evolved from a side dish or appetizer to the healthy main dish we enjoy today.
