About Extreme Oregon
I am an avid hiker, camper and photographer based in Bend, Oregon. I live in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains with my wife and two Australian Shepherds. We are out in the wild every chance we get, either backpacking or camping in our 1971 Shasta trailer. I got a snowmobile in 2014 which has helped me access winter back country locations much easier so my XC skis don’t get used anymore.
My passion for photography comes from my love of being outside. I think when your appreciation for nature gets large enough it is natural to want to capture and share it. Once the photography bug set in it became the driver, and the hiking and camping just a means to take photographs. Whatever the primary driver is I enjoy every aspect of it.
I work in the healthcare field as a Prosthetist and Orthotist. I make artificial limbs and custom braces for people in the Central Oregon area. My career is artistic in that I shape molds and design custom devices, but also must thoroughly understand the technology in the field. Photography is a familiar endeavor to me because it requires an artistic eye and a good grasp of the technology to make it all come together.
